Hello y'all~ It has been one hell of a week last week when another batch of my stocks arrived earlier than i have anticipated and I ended up spending so much time sorting them out so i couldn't draft out this food entry on time. SO SO SOOOO excited to show you guys the upcoming self-manufactured designs! Soon alright? =)
Anyway, back to the topic of this entry. I'm blogging about RAMEN todayyyyyyy! During one of my cafe-hopping excursions, I spotted a long Q forming outside this ramen shop at Orchard Hotel so theBF and I decided to drop by the place on Vesak Day holiday after the restaurant that we were suppose to patronise was closed for a private event.
Introducing Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King
Awfully small restaurant, which explains the never-ending long Q!
While waiting for our ramen, we were kept busy grinding our own sesame! haha.
And...they have my favorite flavored bean sprouts!! I know you are suppose to add them into the soup but erm...i like to eat them as appetizers =/ hehehe.
Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen Special (All Toppings)
It's weird how my "black" ramen turned out red? haha. Nevertheless, the pork soup base was flavorful , aromatic and slightly creamy =) Toppings found inside the ramen includes black fungus, a large piece of seaweed, egg and tender slices of char shu. This bowl of goodness won me over quickly!
Red Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen Special (All Toppings)
The redness of the soup is due to the chili oil (my black ramen contains black pepper sauce instead) and in my opinion, was not as strongly flavored as mine. However, it means you can enjoy every sip of the pork broth without getting sick of the taste!
Even though we queued our way into this small restaurant, the wait was not long as customers leave promptly after they finish their meals. Hence, this is definitely not a place to stay for an after-dinner chat etc. Also, be prepared to share your table with strangers if you are in a small group of 2 like us! All in all, for a good bowl of Japanese ramen, i think the short wait is definitely worthwhile ;)
Until next time~
