Perfect Pitch

Came back from my work trip and have not had time to blog. Sigh. So sorry for the lack of content recently. I promise i'll be back soon with more interesting food and Yventually entries =D

Caught Pitch Perfect (i know, a little slow) during the trip and gosh, why did i only watch this fabulous movie now?!

One of my favorite segments of the movie aka The Riff-Off. A little bit of the oldies, a little bit of the classics and a little bit of pop and hip-hop. AWESOMEEEEEEE =)

Until next time~

P.S. Isn't Skylar Astin just....cute? *smitten* ahahaha. Sorry, im having a little celeb crush right now. teeheehee.

I'm just bored.

Before im totally glued to the TV watching New Girl (im a little slow but it's quite funny you know), here's a youtube video that made me laugh (yup, i don't have anything interesting to blog about!!! T.T)

Since we are on the topic of TV, Homeland is pretty damn awesome too! Maybe there is really a reason why my favorite ad man Jon Hamm (aka Don Draper) didn't win the Emmys because Damian Lewis is so good at portraying the villian in Homeland. But nevertheless, catch Homeland and Mad Men if you haven't! ;)

Have a good week ahead everyone! =)

Ai Se Eu Te Pego

Most infectious/catchy song that's stuck in my head since i first heard it in Paris. TheBF hates it because it is being played everywhere in Europe, even in Sweden. I heard the true meaning of this Portuguese song is quite...horny. WAHAHA. You can totally sense it from the way the girls dance in this music video actually. kekeke =P

Enjoy~
Until next time!

Childhood Memories

Have you seen this video?

Reminded me of my primary/secondary school days =)
You know, when things were so much simpler, when winning a zero-point game can make my week ("out, in, out, TWIST!"), when the only stressful days were during PSLE/O levels (not 365 days within 2 university semesters), when you are only surrounded by people you love and friendship just blossoms overnight because everyone's all naive and innocent =)

Oh, how i miss those days!!

Just thought i should share this video to all 1980s babies out there ;) heehee.

Until next time!

P.S. If you are like my bro who can't really relate to this video because he played Pokemon gameboy games and Digimon cards, good for you, you are young =P AHAHAHA

So You Think He Can Dance?

Nothing interesting to blog about these days because i haven't had time to try out new restaurants/cafe and whatnot and while im still waiting for our self-manufactured clutch to arrive (oh gawd, the wait is sooooo excruciating), here's a REALLY FUNNY video theBF showed me this noon.

He is so chubby but he does the perfect split and cartwheeled across the room. Now BEAT THAT! haha. And his expressions were...priceless. haha.

Oh, remember to catch our launch later at 10.30am at yventually.livejournal.com =))

Until next time!

Landslide

Been so long since i posted a nice song from Glee ever since i finished watching season 2 but i came across this song some time ago and it hit the nail on the head. First sung by Fleetwood Mac, then Dixie Chicks and now Gwyneth Paltrow in Glee, this song has actually been interpreted in many different ways..so what's yours? =)

Landslide

I took my love, I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills

Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?

Can the child within my heart rise above?

Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Mmm, mmm, mmm

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Oh, I'm getting older too

Awh, take my love, take it down

Awh, climb a mountain and turn around

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

Oh, the landslide bring it down

Apple Store Dance

Waiting for Casey Anthony trial to start on CNN yesterday when they showed this series viral videos by an American kid made famous on Youtube!

Now now, do you have the guts to sing + dance in an Apple store where everyone is staring at your crazy behavior? Apparently, this young American kid does!

LOL! His expressions are so epic :/

And he didn't just stop at one song. He went on to do a series of videos, at different timings but the same Apple store!!! I think the Apple staff there are so used to him fooling around in their store they just let him be. haha.

Some of more "entertaining" videos from Trevor:

Everybody's "favorite" song - Friday (Am i the only one who seriously hates the original song -_-)
Pssst, pay attention at 1:31min when the staff starts dancing with him. lol.

Alright, that's all for now. Until next time~

Korea: Day Eleven (Seoul -> Home)

My last entry on Korea will be a short one!

Here's a pic of us with one of the young bosses of Backpackers Korea =) Twin gave each bosses nicknames based on the size of their eyes actually. haha. So we had one Da Yan Jing and a Xiao Yan Jing =P

I thought i've tried most Korean dishes after 10 days in the country but YL never fails to surprise us. LOL. Lunch was at a small family restaurant at Edae where we had BUDAE JJIGAE (Korean Army Stew)

This dish is actually a Korean-Western fusion dish consisting of hotdogs, canned ham and spam. Why cook a Korean dish with western ingredients? This is because after the Korean war, Koreans started cooking this soup-based dish using the leftover food left behind by the US Army bases in the country since meat is scarce, hence its name as well ;)

I think you should try it on days when you are kinda sick of Korean food in Korea! A pretty refreshing change i'll say!

And an abrupt end to my entry with a pic of us at the airport! hahaha. Told you it's a short entry =P

Hope you guys like my Korea blog entry series ;) I've had customers emailing me for YL's itinerary actually! haha. It was a really memorable trip for me and I CANT WAIT FOR LONDON NEXT YR WITH NISHA AND SH!! woohoo.

Last Korean song of this series:

Behind-the-scenes: Miu Miu-inspired self-manufactured satchel

Thrilled to blog about this behind-the-scene entry because not only does this upcoming launch consists of a SELF-MANUFACTURED satchel, it's actually Yventually's first outdoor shoot with Su =)
Having had zero experience taking outdoor shots, i had to spend more time than usual planning the photoshoot route, outfits and coordinating with my helpers.

RECCE SESSION
Had a recce session with theBF a few days before the shoot to plan the route and check out the locations of the toilets at various shooting locations. hahaha. TOILET IS VERY IMPORTANT OK. lol

I realise i needed a "model" for my test shots in order to gauge my lighting and determine what equipment i need to bring to the actual shoot and since i've got to be the photographer, theBF had to be my stand-in model. Make sense, right? :P

Check out his poses. HAHAHA. He said Su likes to pose with one leg up so being the very "spontaneous" model he is, he had to imitate the poses to accurately depict what the scene would be like during the actual photoshoot -____-"

He actually did a whole lot of funny poses/expressions but i shall not pose them here because im quite sure he will kill me :/ Let's just say what you see here is 1 on a scale of 10 in terms of funniness. hehehe.

See, buay song face by the end of the shoot :P haha.

ACTUAL DAY OF PHOTOSHOOT

Initially i only asked SH and Sally for help on the actual day but HL decided to stay for our shoot after her lunch meetup with SH. So in the end, SH became the "behind-the-scene photographer", Sally's the "Tweeter/Su's nanny" and HL ended up as my nanny as she made sure i finish up my Starbucks frappe before the ice melted under the hot sun. Im blessed, so blessed =*)

Erm, yea, we were travelling with a huge Winnie the Pooh luggage throughout our shoot :/ Unglam much. haha.

And the shoot began!!

From Raffles City SC...

to Chijmes...

to SMU..

to Fort Canning Park...

And lastly to National Museum =)

Su was playing around with my camera in between shots and she suggested posing at the pretty fences near Fort Canning Park. Well, as compared to our gorgeous model, we all looked so noob posing in front of the cam!! HAHA.

What did my friends do while i was snapping pictures?

(1) Hiding from the camera, trying to make sure they don't appear in my photos. lol.

(2) Posing for random pictures in between shots

(3) Taking pics on their own with my S95 and entertaining themselves in National Museum. HAHAHA.

Ending our shoot with a group shot of my temporary Yventually team :D Each of us carrying a different shade of the new bag!

In case you are wondering, this is the design the bag was inspired from.

Instead of patent leather, i picked soft faux leather for Yventually in 4 different shades - Universal Black, Rose Pink, Classy Nude & Funky Grey =) Everyone was impressed with the quality of the faux leather, even YL who normally only purchase real leather bags!

The bag fits A4 documents just nicely and comes with a backpocket for your ez-link card and whatnot!

I was torn between Nude & Rose Pink and ended up with the former. SH took Classy Nude as well while Jie went for Funky Grey and my aunt took Universal Black as a birthday gift for a colleague! I think Mich's considering the Rose Pink one so yea, every color is loveeeee =)

Some pics from my iPhone carrying my new arm candy:

Teaser pics are already posted on Yventually's twitter and facebook account and im in the midst of preparing a Lookbook to showcase the versatility of the bag so stay tuned ;)

Until next time~

Korea: Day Ten (Seoul)

Day 10!!!! Finally, Im almost done with blogging about Korea. My eyes are burning right now from the lack of sleep and exhaustion from a whole day of lab work today so we'll see how much i can blog today :/

Since we have pretty much covered all the places we wana visit by the 10th day, we went to explore YL's exchange Uni - Korea University.

While YL went off to meet a Korean friend of hers near her school compound, Cl, twin and i went to have breakfast at a nearby breakfast house.

Tuna sushi roll made on the spot!! :D

Exploring the streets near K.U while waiting for YL. We passed by this gift shop and started shopping for STICKERS and totally forgot about the time -__-" yea, stickers. haha.

Lunch at an Indian restaurant on the 2nd floor where they serve authentic Indian cuisine!!

Most of the time, my chinese friends give me a "o.O" face whenever i insist on having Indian food when we are out. I think these 3 friends of mine are the only ones who would get as excited as i was when we decided to try out this crowded restaurant for some Tandoori chicken and curry. haha.

A whole table of delicious food!! This is actually a set meal meant for 3 but good enough to fit us 4 gluttons. hehe.

After-lunch snack was a chocolate-flavored waffle with plain yogurt ice-cream at this stand-alone waffle store! A very unique combination eh!

Next stop - Korea University!! Well, i would prefer to call it "The Castle" because of its stone-wall architecture. If my school looks like this, i will not skip lecture (as often) im sure. haha.

Headed back to Hongdae in the afternoon with only a really pathetic amount of money left in my pocket, having spent most of my ker-chings in the past 9 days. But, that didn't stop me from buying...

The CUTEST iphone cover in the www :D This hot pink rubber cover is mad love, even though it is relatively more expensive than the covers sold here.

We were deciding what to have for dinner when Korean Ramyeon came to mind. It's surprising how YL never include this dish in our itinerary because she deemed it as the "most boring Korean food" in the country. However, we managed to persuade her to bring us to a random food stall for some traditional ramen.

I picked Ramyeon with steamed dumplings! As expected, this bowl of noodles simply tasted like...your usual Nong Shim korean maggi mee!! HAHAHA. No wonder YL was so hesitant :/

Last minute shopping at Myeongdong and Lotte Mart for the girls who still have money left (which obviously does not include me. hahahah)

Oh Oh Oh!! How can i not mention how my friends tried to embarass me in Seoul?!! haha. KT and YL bought a whole lot of kimchi, dried food and whatnot from Lotte Mart so they picked up a cardboard box near the exit and had me carry it for them from the supermarket ALL THE WAY BACK TO SINCHON -___-"

Everyone was staring at me throughout the whole subway ride, not forgetting how it was so difficult for me to even get on the crowded train. Bleah.

Another round of fried chicken for supper =) Should have ordered Kyochon though, they serve the most yummylicious chicken!!

Until next time~~

Korea: Day Nine (Seoul)

Craving for some Korean bossam (steamed pork belly with kimchi), we started Day Nine back at Insa-dong, hoping to try that restaurant YL was raving about during her days of exchange.

Me and Twin in identical blazers!! haha. Actually the navy blazer is hers as well but the jackets i brought to Korea were not suitable for my oversized top so i had to borrow hers. She bought like 10 blazers in Seoul? haha. Definitely not cheap (shopping in Korea is expensive) but the workmanship is good =)

Unfortunately, the restaurant we went looking for has since moved so we ended up at this random family restaurant which serves Bossam as well.

Acorn-starch Jelly Salad (acorn jelly is...blah :/), Bean Pancake, Korean Pork Bossam, Doenjang Soup and vegetables in which the pork belly slices are wrapped with!

I thought we would leave Insa-dong for Namsam Tower after lunch but Yl brought us to the nearby Samcheongdong instead!

Once you stepped into Samcheongdong, you see a whole new side of Seoul in my opinion. They had an array of Hanok(Korean traditional houses)-inspired shops and even cafes serving Western tea/coffee seems to have blended in with the traditional landscape. Really unique!

Our Namsan Tower trip happened afterwhich and it was one longggggggggggggg walk up that hill to the cable car station. Didn't help that the hill was really steep as well -_-"

The never...

..ending...

..Slope...

Since it was yet another crowded weekend in Seoul, we had to queue for the cable car that will take us uphill to the peak of Mount Namsan!

Top of the mountain :D

I was more intrigued by these Christmas tree-looking statues than the tower! haha. What are they?

Heaps of LOVE LOCKETS stacked up into a tree!!

I heard what you do is to visit Namsan tower as couple, purchase a lock&key set, write your names on it and pick a good spot to secure that lock, symbolising an unbreakable bond and everlasting love =) HOW ROMANTIC IS THAT? Cliche as it sounds, i think it's still a really sweet thing to do as couple.

Fortunately, we managed to catch the sunset at the top of the mountain. One of my favorite pics of this trip!

Dinner was at this porridge house in MyeongDong. Never a fan of porridge (reminds me of the blant meals i have when i'm sick) but this Korean porridge restaurant changed my mind ;)

Not a cheap meal though. A bowl of porridge costed us at least S$10? Yikes.

I had Kimchi Octopus Porridge! Too yummy, way too yummy!!

Spent the rest of the night at Lotte Mart as the perfect daughter-in-laws had to buy Kimchi and whatnot back for their mothers and future mother-in-laws. HAHA. Me? i came out of the supermarket with a big packet of maggi mee. hur hur hur :P

If you think we must be exhausted by the end of the day, you are wrong! Being the gluttons we all are, we got the boss of BP Korea to order fried chicken takeout for us so we can enjoy it at the comfort of our little room! haha.

THEIR FRIED CHICKEN IS THE BOMB. Beats KFC/Popeyes/Arnold's hands down i swear!! We were fighting with each other for that very last piece, i swear! haha. Oh, we had the chicken from Kyochon btw =)

Until next time~
