Bon Appetit: Au Chocolat

Made a trip down to Au Chocolat, Marina Bay Sands to celebrate YL's birthday during the lunar new year break after looking at all the drool-worthy pictures online of the restaurant!

We ordered Truffle Fries for sharing because we could smell the truffle oil aroma even before we entered the Bistro. The couple sitting near the entrance was happily enjoying their fries and we just couldn't resist ordering one for ourselves!

Came with BBQ sauce and mayonaise, AC's fries were thick-cut potato strips that even come with potato skin. Finger-licking good!!

Duck Confit for both YL and Twin. Despite being a chef's recommendation, the duck was a tad too dry to our liking. Thumbs up for its portion and the tasty white-wine-poached pear that comes with the dish though!

I had Au Chocolate Benedict because every positive review i read online seems to focus heavily on this dish! Drizzled with AC's special Hollandaise sauce (they added red wine and dark chocolate to it!), i was skeptical about how it will taste when the food first arrived. I mean, chocolate in a savoury dish?!
In the end, my worries were unfounded because the sauce complimented the eggs really well.

I know the attention of this dish should be on the poached eggs but i actually think the crispy bacon strips (they were really good!!), spinach and soft English muffins were the reasons why i enjoyed my meal =)

CL opted for the Ultimate Benedict that consisted of (now try reading this in one breath =P): pancakes, sauteed spinach, bacon strips, roasted ribeye steak, roasted chicken slices, poached eggs, tomatoes and AC's special Hollandaise sauce. Now you know why it's called the Ultimate Benedict? haha.

Extremely filling dish with the dense and fluffy savoury pancakes found right at the bottom of the pan. The (double-layered) pancakes and bacon were tasty although the roasted chicken slices lacked flavor.

A group photo of us~ Coincidentally, 3 of us were dressed in shades of red for lunar new year. hehehe. HUAT AH! =P

A picture of me before i left home (and then got all oily and sticky at River Angbao -__-) donning Fashmob's red tweed dress from their Christmas collection last year =)

Enjoy the remaining CNY everyone!! =)

Until next time~
