Paris, France - Day Two

2nd day of Paris trip was LOUVRE DAY =)

WOW is the word to describe this world-famous museum. haha.

Since it was Open Museum Day (ie every first Sunday of the month when entry to Louvre is free!), the museum premises was packed with people. The Q to the main entrance of the museum was sooooo long, the human line was SURROUNDING the building (which btw is huge). It looked like a good 2.5 hour Q but thankfully i found out about the Carousel Entrance via online reviews that many did not know about!

Followed a kind Lourve security personnel as she brought us to the Carousel entrance. So so nice of her =)

Look out for these red banners to spot the entrance! Always enter Louvre via this entrance because Q is much much shorter ;)

Even though it looked like a long Q, we got in within 30mins!

The entire museum is gigantic but for art-noobs like me and theBF, we decided to just hunt down the famous masterpieces that were mostly listed on the brochure itself.

La Belle Ferroniere! Yes, i got overly excited everytime i see an art piece i know, which of course didn't happen often. HAHAHA.

Funniest art piece ever. lol.

Coronation of Napoleon I

Michelangelo's Dying Slave

Venus de Milo

The enormous painting of The Wedding Feast which many people were not interested in because...

It's RIGHT OPP OF MONA LISA. hahaha. According to theBF, this was the right moment to start singing "put your hands up, put your hands up, put put put put put" by 2PM. Lol.

With the help of my small little tripod, i stretched all the way in front, took a good pic and squeeeeeeeeeezed my way out. Phew.

At the Carousel entrance was where all the eateries were located so off we went to everybody's favorite fast food restaurant.

Refused to eat anything that could be found in Asian Mac's so i settled for a Chicken and Bacon McWrap while theBF had a Beef Baguette. BAGUETTE, even in Mac's!!

My yummylicious McWrap with tender chicken fillet *satisfied smile

A peek at the baguette before theBF gobbled it down. He loved the tangy sauce used (reminded me of Wasabi), not me =/ haha.

1Euro macarons!! Awfully sweet though.

Next destination - Paris River Cruise along Seine river!

7-Euros instead of 12-Euros thanks to the ISIC card!

River cruise is the best way to look at Paris when you are new to the place because it passes by many famous places of interests of the city, giving you a good overview of what you are up for during the next few days of touring the place =D Many thanks to Nisha for the excellent recommendation!!!

Graffiti is everywhere. like. e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.

Random bazaar at foot of Eiffel Tower

With one lift down, the Q for the Eiffel Tower elevator was ridiculously long so we decided to get tics for the STAIRS to second deck instead ;)

When they said STAIRS, they really meant stairs. Like a few hundred flights of them (that's how i felt) haha.

Overlooking Paris' landscape from the first and second deck - Miniature style

Then it was the usual touristy photo-taking session! haha.

KFC for dinner since it was near to the hostel and i was kinda surprised by how tasty the zinger-spiced-fried chicken tasted! theBF was overjoyed because there is no KFC in Sweden!

Until next time!! =)
