Euro Grad Trip (Paris) - Day One

Before i start my entry on Paris, i will like to recommend a card for all students/graduates out there who are going/planning to travel around Europe for their graduation trip - International Student Identity Card (ISIC)

I was recommended to sign up for this card just before my Europe trip by theBF because many places of attractions in Europe offer good discounts for students below 24 years old. Actually, it works well in many countries worldwide but i guess most people find it most useful in Europe.

It proved to be an excellent decision because prices for tickets at various locations in Paris were discounted for ISIC holders (Louvre Museum, river cruise along Eiffel, Museum Orsay....) so it's a good investment at S$25! I got them done at NUS Science Co-op but you can also apply online (http://www.statravel.com.sg/isic.htm)

Just feel the need to share this info especially when soooo many people are planning to visit Europe as part of their grad trip ;)
One thing to note: companies/attraction sites might not state that ISIC holders enjoy discounts so do always ask while purchasing tickets at the counters. Hey, no harm opening your mouth eh? ;)

Wokay, moving on to Paris!

Superbly cheap RyanAir tics to Paris means landing at ulu-only-God-knows-where Vatry airport, a long 4hour bus ride away from Central Paris. haha.

First thing we saw upon alighting the shuttle bus:

Awww. Too bad gloomy skies did not make good Eiffel pics =(

Making our way to Plug-Inn Youth Hostel

Pleasantly surprised by the space of our private double room and cleaniness of the private toilet ;)

The rain could not deter us from venturing out of the hostel for late dinner!

MOULIN ROUGE theatre =D

Pre-dinner desserts at the popular Cafe des Deux Moulin, the cafe made famous by the movie Amelie!

Creme brulee, the dessert they are quite famous for!

Chocolate tart (so rich i can dieeee)

Then it was dinner takeout at QUICK, a French fast food chain, because the rain got so heavy we couldn't move too far from our hostel

Burger size on display board is NOT DRAWN TO SCALE because the Giant Max burger was not giant. HAHAHA.

Ok, this is a really short post because i realise combining day one and two of Paris will be way too long for an entry :/ I'll blog about Lourve museum, river cruise along Seine river cruise and Eiffel tower walk soon ok!!

Until next time~
