Hello from Sweden!!!
Waiting for theBF to come back to hall in Linkoping after his Swedish lessons so i have some "me" time to do some Yventually-related stuff and BLOG!! =D
Spent the last couple of days in Stockholm before we took a 3-hour bus ride to the small town theBF is currently living in for his exchange program. Stockholm's really pretty and fun! Swedish people are generally friendly and they speak REALLY good English so it makes communication so easy here, although their menus/street names/shop signs only consisted of their native language. Not to mention how GORGEOUS people look in Stockholm. Every girl is model-worthy with their porcelain skin and slender legs while the guys all look like they just came from a H&M advert!!!! haha.
So i went on a 17hour flight, with a short transit at Frankfurt because SIA doesn't fly to Sweden.
Transiting at Frankfurt airport is a bitch with their stringent customs and their ever-so-sensitive metal detectors that got me a brief (but NOT COMFORTABLE) body search. tsk.
TheBF picking me up and lugging my 18.4kg luggage up the shuttle bus to Stockholm city!! =)
Navigated our way from the bus terminal to Gamla Stan (Old Town) where our youth hostel was.
Something to note, EVERYTHING in Sweden is hell expensive with their sky-high standard of living so we had to live in a youth hostel to save on our expenses! Even with that, we paid quite a fair bit =/
In awe with the European architecture!! Every building is unique and sooo pretty!
Best Hostel, Gamla Stan (Old Town)
Shocked by how small our room was. HAHAHAHA.
We were quite lucky coz we had a common toilet right next door so it made bathing and all much easier. The toilet's puny, as expected. haha.
TheBF looking happy because he had KOI milktea from Singapore, thanks to his sisters -_-" I think he was happier seeing the drink than me actually. hahaha.
Exploring the streets of Old Town...
Most toilets require a fee!!
First attraction of the trip?
Nobel Museum!
Being a Science student, the "Nobel prize" is very much mentioned during lectures so i was actually excited about this museum trip though im not a very "museum" person to start off with. haha.
The founder of the Nobel prize - Alfred Nobel
Do you know he is the creator of dynamite as well? ;)
JAMES WATSON!! yes, the "DNA guy"!! =)
Wandered along the streets as we made our way to the next destination...
Got tempted by this traditional chocolate shop and bought a Tiramisu-flavoured chocolate! S$6 for this small little piece but so yummy =)
Stockholm City Hall,
this is also the place where the Nobel Prize banquet is normally held!
Settled for dinner at one of Sweden's most popular fast food restaurant, MAX.
Each burger meal costed us about S$15? Yes, i will learn to appreciate my $7 MacDonald's meal in Singapore from now on!!! hhahaha.
Making our way back to the hostel, enjoying the beautiful sunset and braving the wind!
Day is LONGGGGG in Spring so even at 8pm, the sky's bright and sun rises at 3am each morning! I think this pic was actually taken at around 9-10pm? The graduation of colors of the sky is just...beautiful =)
That's all for Day 1 of my Europe trip!! =) More to come soon ok!
Until next time~
