While i'm still enjoying being twenTEEN one years old (im a Dec baby. i celebrated my bday LAST among others so i tink i deserve to enjoy my precious youth a little longer than the others? =P haha), theBF had turned 22 on Sat!!!
So to celebrate his special day, i took him to...
BASILICO @ The Regent Hotel for their italian lunch buffet! It was pretty pricey for a lunch buffet but since it's A's bday, he deserved the best for the day =) And i was really excited about the buffet having an italian theme, instead of the same old boring International kind!
We were seated comfortably at a table for 4 so we can both place our bags and whatnot on the other unoccupied chairs! So happy with the arrangements =)
And then..it's LUNCH TIME!! Being italian-themed, we had everything from cold cuts, to cheese, to meat slices, to pasta, to pizzas~ They even had a small corner for local cuisine (such as Hokkien mee...)
Appetisers:
Pasta, from the pasta corner where u can choose the different kinds of pasta type and sauces and have the chef cook it for u on the spot! :
A wide variety of food choices (A's hokkien mee was really good, surprisingly):
And A's favorite desserts from the dessert corner. Yes, they have GELATOOOOOOOOO ice cream! yummylicious!!
And this is theBF with his SPARKLING WATER. We thought it was complementary, only to see it priced at $12 when the bill came. i almost teared. LOL T.T
We ordered 2 cups of cappuccino (i made sure they were complementary. LOL. cheapo me) and started cam-whoring! hehe.
And then we decided to be creative as we "shoot" our very own "advertisement"...
LOL. Anyone who wants to hire him for the next "Got Milk" ad, pls contact me @ Alexgotmilk@hotmail.com. thanks. HAHAHAHA.
Crazy stuff aside, it was present-opening time! =) I made a peanut butter blondie with dark chocolate chips as his "bday cake"!
Afternoon was spent watching SATC2!
i love how Samantha Jones OWAS say the funniest things on Earth! Don't you think their storyline always strike a cord with everyone's r/s in reality? I love it! AbuDhabiDUUUUUU!
Dinner was at Nantsutei, Parco@Marina Bay!! =) It's a new Jap ramen restaurant i saw on The Sunday Times a few weeks ago. As expected, there was a queue outside but we didnt spend a long time waiting, so it was all good
We both thought the japanese soft toy hanging outside its door was really cute until A saw this:
LOL. A M.I.C doll outside a so-called "authentic" Jap ramen store is so ironic. ops =X
Food-wise, i had Chashu-men while A had Dragon Ramen (it's spicy, hence the name i suppose). We loved their chashu!! Really tender, unlike most ramen stores that serve meat that is really hard because it was dipped in the soup for way too long.
And their sho-yu sauce was the reason for its really dark coloration. As compared to Ippudo, i very much preferred the ramen here at Nantsutei but it did get a little too oily towards the end of the dish.
A had a small bday celebration back home so im gona end off with a pic of the Bday boy making his wish~
SHIT, i just realised this post consists of buffet agn. DAMN. ahahaha.
have a great week everyone!!
