Since young, my mum will prepare a bowl of mee sua with pig kidneys and eggs on my birthday every year as part of my family's tradition so for me, mee sua has this really special place in my heart. Therefore, imagine my excitement when i saw an online review of this famous chicken herbal soup along Changi Road that features my favorite noodles and pig kidneys!!
Seng Kee Chicken Herbal Soup stall, 467 Changi Road
A stone's throw away from Kembangan MRT station, this place is huge as the stall took up about 3 to 4 stalls' worth of space since they serve tzi cha dishes as well. I was there at around 8pm so it was not as crowded as theBF and I have expected.
Mee Sua Chicken Herbal Soup (with Pig Kidneys, Pig Liver & Lean Pork)
You can choose between a mixture of both kidneys/liver and pork meat or without either ingredient even though the price (S$5) remains the same.
Every mouthful of the thick, strong-flavored herbal soup was such goodness!! It reminded me of the 十全大补汤 my mum cooked so there was this sense of familiarity while drinking the yummy soup =) The vermicelli was silky smooth upon consumption which goes really well with the soup.
A closer look at what laid beneath the soup. They were considerably generous with their pig organs and pork slices so no complains there ;) So happy to be eating the chewy pig kidneys on a non-birthday day! haha.
In conclusion, even though the price of the noodles is a little steep, i think it is worth my every penny! Planning to try their tzi char dishes the next time i patronize Seng Kee so if they are also worth the mention, i'll probably blog again =) Oh oh, and they open into the wee hours of the morning so this is another supper outlet you can consider!!
Until next time~
