Hello hello!
Really excited to pen down my thoughts about this week's behind-the-scene because it was the most memorable photoshoot i have done since i started outdoor photoshoot about a year plus ago. More about that later, let me first talk about the SUMMER satchel we are launching tonight at 8pm!! =)
For Summer 2013, i wanted to manufacture a bag in more cheery colors to suit the season and move away from the darker shades i usually pick. This is how the SUMMER satchel was created.
Spotting a wide opening and detachable slingbag strap, we ended up with 3 summer-loving colors - Almond, Blush and Mint! With regards to the size, well, like all our manufactured products, IT FITS A4!! =)
In case you are wondering, the shoulder handles are long enough to be carried on the shoulder!! You need not hang it on your arm all the time which improves the overall functionality of the bag ;)
The unique feature of the bag lies with its side design. It is actually aesthetically challenging to construct the
"V" lining you see right now because you have to cut the leatherette into various small pieces then sew them together piece by piece to construct the silhouette but i managed to convince the manufacturer it will be worth it and it did!! =) *achievement unlocked*

Which bag did our model pick?
Need i say more? haha.
We did the shoot at Palawan Beach, Sentosa on a weekend morning so the beach was not entirely empty/quiet. Then, halfway through the photoshoot, i suggested sneaking into the empty cafe (seen with the blue n white umbrellas in the background of the pic below) to get some cafe shots so E and i climbed through the mesh and into the cafe, thinking that if we ever get caught by the staff, we can just ask them for permission for a few quick snaps and most of the time, this works perfectly fine.
Then just as I was adjusting my camera, a man walked towards us from the opp direction in his grey tee and blue shorts with a pretty expressionless face. At that moment, both E and I had the same thing in mind - he must be one of the cafe staff! I was actually standing further away from him than my model and thus i had a clearer view of the lower part of his body. That is when i saw the most horrific scene of my life to date. Mr Expressionless has his "thang" hanging out from his boxers. HE WAS WALKING TOWARDS US WITH HIS THANG HANGING OUT. I was mortified but i told myself i had to stay calm as my priority now is to get E and i out of the place especially when my model was still totally clueless about the situation as her sight was blocked by the many chairs at the cafe. The fact that she was walking towards him, hoping to get his permission to continue our shoot made me more panicky because honestly, you don't need another girl to see his you-know-what. I looked at E and said sternly "Elaine, let's go". My dear innocent model was still confused so i raised my voice and said "Elaine, let's go" once again before she moved away from him and left the cafe with me. Relieved, i whispered to her to walk quickly as we walked calmly but quickly away from the cafe. Moments later, Elaine asked why i became so angry all of a sudden and i finally told her what i saw. That was when my model went hysterical and ran screaming away to the other end of the beach. HAHAHAHAHA.
We were so scared because our things and luggage were near the cafe and we didn't want to go any where near the flasher so we asked the NUS camp guys to help us retrieve our things (Thank you NUS Malaysian society peeps!!). Managed to notify the lifeguard on patrol and finished our shoot at the other side of the beach, with the lifeguard and NUS camp guys near us. That flasher? That shameless guy crossed the big wooden bridge like nothing happened and joined his other 2 friends at the off-shore island. Yes, HE WAS NOT ALONE. Can you imagine?!?!?!?
Told some of my close friends about this incident and the funny thing is how different guys and girls react to the same story.
Girls: "so glad you guys are ok! Such a scary incident!! omg!!"
Guys: "Was it big? why didn't you kick it? TAKE PICS LA!! "Stomp" him!"
-.-"
I think us girls always thought we are mentally prepared when we meet a flasher. Chide him of his small you-know-what, point and laugh, attack him and the list goes on and on. However, when we finally meet one, it all relies on your gut feeling. If you know you can't beat him, i would say get yourself out of that situation and leave that b*stard alone. For me, i know i could have done a million other things but i felt getting E and i out of the cafe was the best choice then. So for you girls heading to the beach this summer, be careful and stay safe!!! This is not the first flasher case i've heard happening at Sentosa beaches so keep your guard up ladies ;) The fact that this had to happen in broad daylight just brings this incident's ridiculousness to a whole new level.
Ok, so here's the very interesting blog entry I have today. I hope it's entertaining enough for you as it is traumatizing for me. hahaha. Back to the main point of this entry, don't forget our launch at 8pm tonight tonight tonight!!!
