Met up with Jun recently and we decided to do a cafe/restaurant-hop at an area deemed too far off from where we both live (East) - Lorong Kilat Road
First stop: Woori-Nara, 19 Lorong Kilat #01-02
One of Jun's favorite Korean restaurant, we started out restaurant-hop journey with dinner at this small outlet!
Side dishes for the evening.
We ordered Soya Garlic fried chicken (half) to share and the most awesome part of this dish would be the choice to pick between boneless or non-boneless chicken parts! Being lazy that evening, you know which option we opted for. haha.
The soya garlic-flavored fried chicken was tasty and beats Bonchon chicken hands-down but i think Kko Kko Nara still serves the best Korean fried chicken in my opinion (Jun, don't kill me!!! haha). However, in terms of price and portion, Woori Nara might be a better choice ;)
JjaJang Myeon (Black bean sauce noodles)
Recommended by Jun, the thick handmade noodles had got to be the main highlight of this dish! I love its chewy texture, definitely one of the best i've eaten so far. The black bean sauce is not overly-rich, so you won't get sick of eating this big bowl of Jja jang myeon over time too!
Seafood pancake
Crispy and served hot, this seafood pancake was not too starchy (plus point for me!) though i kinda wished they added more seafood than vegetables.

Second Stop: Carpenter & Cook, 19 Lorong Kilat #01-06
If you notice the unit number of both restaurants/cafe, they are just 4 units apart! So basically after dinner, it only took us less than 1 minute to reach our 2nd destination. I didn't even have time to digest my dinner!! haha.
This cafe needs no introduction as there are so many raving reviews about their pastries on the internet so we decided to check out what all the hype is all about ;)
Our table, made from an old sewing machine! Cute!
As we reached the cafe at around 8plus at night, most of their more popular pastries were sold out =*( These were all they had left for the Sat night:
Ended up with White Chocolate & Raspberry Brownie and Apple Cobbler cake
The brownie had a strong " dark chocolatey" taste to it and i think would be a great hit among chocolate lovers =)
The apple cobbler cake was alright, not something extremely memorable or that sorts.
Although my first visit to C&C was not exactly memorable, I NEED to be back here to try their specialty tarts and savory pastries next time! ;)
My fellow "cafe-hopper" =P Thank you for showing me around this "ulu" part of Singapore! haha.
Until next time~
