Hidden Gem in Joo Chiat

Cafe-hunting with Jun always brings me to out-of-the-way-but-totally-worth-it places to try out =) That afternoon, we met up over brunch and coffee in the East at this new cafe, backed by the same people behind Group Therapy cafe. You can read about my G.T experience here if you have not!

Relational Goods, 29 Everitt Road
Known more of a neighbourhood cafe, R.G is hidden amidst the shophouses and landed houses within Joo Chiat.

Behind that unassuming door lies a retro-themed cafe that is so well-furnished! The only problem was the extreme lack of seats which caught me by surprise as its large interior space definitely allows more than the few small tables they provided.

Then, the notice on their wooden stand at their cashier counter explained it all.

It's a real disappointment to know that such a beautiful place cannot be transformed into a full-fledged dine-in cafe but for you guys living near them, lucky you!!! You can now order delicious brunch dishes since they provide delivery!

Please note that not all items are available for takeaways because this is the menu for their delivery service.

The remaining seats and table were all taken up when we reached. Undeterred, Jun and i decided to wait for the customers to leave while i started sipping my Roasted Almond Latte. Don't be deceived by its look, this coffee is strong and packs a punch!

And...we managed to secure our seats!!! =D

Brunch being served, take-out style!

Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich in Wholemeal Bun
Look at the amount of meat oozing out of the burger! Took a bite (since this is what Jun ordered) and the honey mustard sauce tasted really well with the chicken chunks! It is really thoughtful of Relational Goods to use wholemeal bun for a healthier meal option too =)

Poached Eggs, Smoked Salmon and Hollandaise on Toast
If you have been to Group Therapy cafe, you will realise that their menu is similar to that of Relational Goods. Hence, i decided to stick with the poached eggs and salmon toast i had previously at G.T as i was not feeling too adventurous that day. Unlike the other time when the toast was shared among 4 friends, i had this toast entirely to myself at R.G. The rich and flavorful hollandaise sauce covered my nicely poached eggs and the combination of smoked salmon, eggs and toast tasted fabulous! However, halfway through, you start to feel a little sick of the sauce due to its thick texture. I'm not saying this dish is not delicious (it is!) but if you are not a big fan of cream-based food, you might want to order this as a side dish for sharing! =D

Oh oh and last but not least, a pic of the cutest takeaway coffee cup!! haha.

Ok, i am feel famished after writing this post =/ *chants to self: no i will not have supper no i cannot have supper*

Until next time~
