Anneonghaseyo~! I went missing for the past few weeks because i was in Korea right after examinations ended.
It was one helluva trip with some of my closest friends as we travelled, ate, shopped and laughed in the land of Kimchi. Only 11 days in Korea but definitely a lifetime of memories =)
Anyhows, let me intro you my travel buddies:
(From left) CL - our walking korean dictionary. haha. she's the only one who took Korean language lessons so we depended heavily on her and YL throughout the entire trip.
YL - our trusty "GPS". We are so amazed at how detailed YL's itinerary was before the trip. A 3month exchange at Korea Uni made her an expert in Korea =/
Twin - the most organised person who took care of our necessities and whatnot.
Me - Photographer aka FREE LOADER =D
Upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, we started looking for the airport bus counter to purchase tics for the shuttle bus! The number of bus routes they provide were pretty extensive so it's really convenient =)
After an hour ride, we alighted at Sinchon near where our hostel was situated =)
Navigating...
Up that horrible horrible slopeeeee...
And TA-DAH, we arrived at Backpackers Korea (Sinchon outlet).
This is actually more of a hostel, recommended by YL. Accomodation charges was affordable (~S$35 per night) and a stone's throw away from the Seoul subway station =)
2 of us shared a room each and despite its small size, it's well equipped with an aircon, free wifi, fan, fridge and COMPUTER (beat that!)
We even get to make free international calls at the reception downstairs via Skype =D
Since it's dinner time, we made our way to MyeongDong (the Orchard Rd of Seoul) via subway...
How do you know you are in Myeong Dong? When you see these...
Rows and rows and rows of beauty/cosmetics shops!!! =) *excited much*
Dinner was spent at YL's favorite tofu soup restaurant - Dolkemaeul Tofu House.
I'm so in love with their kimchi tofu soup!!! Piping hot and the homemade tofu was soft and smooth. Mmmmmmmm...Mmmmmm. You get the drift ;)
Our little shopping spree started after dinner when the sun FINALLY set in Seoul =)
Things in ARTBOX was almost 2-3times cheaper than in Singapore and facial products at Tony Moly was at 1/2 price as compared to Singapore. What can i say? I GAVE IN. hahaha.
Ending my entry on DAY ONE in Korea with my purchases from TonyMoly...
Blackhead removal gel in a plastic egg, Peach flavored lip balm, the FAMOUS tomato whitening mask and cheap sheet masks at S$1.5 each =) I feel happy just looking at their packaging! hehehe.
Lastly, i have decided to end off all entries of my Korean trip with a Kpop song =D
Our "theme song" for this trip (because we heard it at every shop we entered and CL can't stop singing it. haha)
