Korea: Day Eight (Seoul)

Our 2nd weekend in Seoul and CL had to meet up with her Korean buddies that very afternoon so we decided to tag along! Since the guys were only available in the noon, YL brought us shopping in the morning instead.

Where?
Hongdae (Hongik University)!!

Hongik Uni is well-known for its fine arts and design courses and due to this reason, the shops surrounding the school have that artsy-fartsy vibe. As compared to Sinsa-dong, the boutiques are much smaller (and thus packed with tons of clothes!) and basically cramped next to each other. Despite their puny shop space, every shop is filled with pretty apparels and accessories =)

Rushed back to Sinchon to meet Shine, CL's Korean buddy (reluctantly. i still wana shop at Hongdae!! :/) and he suggested lunch at Korea's very own Pizza Hut - Mr. Pizza!

Pork ribs pizza with sweet potato crust filling!! Yes, SWEET POTATO! Koreans really love their sweet potato. They even have Sweet Potato Latte at most cafes ;)

Shrimp pizza with cream cheese crust!

It was a little awkward initially since we have never met CL's buddy before when he was in Sin for exchange some months back but im a pro at making small talks. HAHAHAHA. I think it runs in the family. My bro loves talking (too much) crap with strangers too. HAHA.

Coffee following our lunch at a nearby cafe! I don't have an official group pic we took since pics are still with Twin and she's too busy with her upcoming concert these days. Maybe next time!

We actually spent the rest of our afternoon back at Sinsa, braving the weekend crowd and shopping away. And when it was finally time for dinner, Twin was especially excited. Why? Because we headed to a restaurant opened by her dear Bae Yong Joon. -__-"

The restaurant is located at Gangnam-gu. If Sinsa-dong is an upscale street, then Gangnam-gu is THREE notches up. How can a HERMES SHOP be so freaking big is beyond me. and where else do you find VALET parking at Ralph Lauren? Madnessss.

Finally found the restaurant at the end of the street!

GORILLA IN THE KITCHEN.

Im sure Twin would be more thrilled if it was named Bae Yong Joon in the House instead. HAHAHA.

The restaurant has a minimalist approach to its decoration and there is no pictures of the Korean artiste and whatnot, which is quite surprising to me. However, it shows how the star really wanted his customers to focus on the food, not him =)

As you can see from the price of the dinner set, it's more towards fine dining! Most of us actually picked the 2nd dinner set for its steak main course =)

Pictures of the meal! Pardon the lousy quality though. I didn't bring my DSLR out that day and the lighting in the restaurant wasn't the best for photo-taking.

Verdict: Very Yummmmmy. Every dish is a surprise and their service was great. Well, there is this eye candy waiter in the restaurant so yea... HAHAHA.

Faces of the satisfied customers ;)

Post-dinner, YL brought us to a pub along Apgujeong Rodeo Street nearby for FRUIT SOJU. She was full of praises for their Apple Soju on our way there and made all of us so excited. haha.

For those who are keen on going to the same outlet, just keep a lookout for this signboard as you walk down Apjujeong Rodeo Street. Pretty prominent imo.

This pub seems more popular among the locals as it was still filled with the weekend crowd when we got there near midnight. I took these pictures using my iphone because..taking out my cam will make me look really...noob. You know what i mean. haha.

APPLE SOJU IN (real) APPLE CUPS!!! =D Coolness.

CL couldnt stop singing Kpop songs the whole night so we decided we need to try out the karaoke in Seoul as our dear friend needs her mic! hahaha. So impromptu but i like!

Cottage-themed Kbox!

We had an amazinggggg time dancing, singing and going crazy in that small room we were given. I swear this is the first time i've seen my friends so high since i know them when i was...7? hahaha.

That's all for now~!
