This Bear Bites!

Ladies, unlike guys, are attracted to all things pretty/adorable/cute. It really doesn't matter if that thing don't taste good or is actually not even functional, as long as they appeal to us, we'll did be willing to spend money on them. *cue rolling of eyes of all boyfriends and husbands* haha. That is how i was so sure i would want to pay Bear Bites a visit when my girlfriend Mich posted this on her Instagram:

I mean, HOW CUTE ARE THESE BUNS RIGHT?!?!
Fortunately, these Taiwanese burger-inspired buns tasted as good as they looked so here's my food review on...

Bear Bites, *Scape

Located at a corner of *Scape, where Long John Silver used to be. Highly accessible if you are shopping around Cineleisure but do take note that their outdoor seating area is quite limited. Oh, i just have to mention their staff were a friendly bunch too! No, not because they thought Ace and i were still schooling kids. HAHAHA.

Make a choice between Karaage Crispy Chicken or Oishi Fish Fillet and pick a flavored bun and sauce!

Since the sky was gloomy that afternoon and most of the outdoor seats were taken up, we took our lunch upstairs to *Scape Mall.

Hello bear paws!!

My lunch partner Ace opted for the S$5.80 Fish Fillet burger, with original milk bun and golden cheese sauce! If you are wondering why her burger bun looked a little plain, my friend here hates vegetables. haha.

I had the S$4.80 Karaage Crispy Chicken, drizzled with black pepper sauce as recommended by their staff, sandwiched between squid ink bun! It came with lettuce and a slice of tomato for my daily dose of fibers.

The karaage chicken was, as its name mentioned, Crispy with a capital C! I thought the stark contrast between the soft squid ink bun and piping hot chicken was an interesting and definitely yummy mix. The taste of squid ink was not very obvious though, possibly due to the strong flavor of the black pepper sauce.

Overall, it was a tasty burger bun, with exceptionally brilliant marketing and branding. Our only problem with lunch was its slightly pricey price tag? At S$4.80/S$5.80 per bun, the portion is considerably small so guys might have to top up a couple of dollars to get their combo meal (that comes with fries and a drink) for a more complete meal. If you are willing to spare your extra dollars for a small but delicious (and not to forget attractive-looking) burger, this is worth a try ;)

Until next time~
