Anyone is a fan of the TV show, Cake Boss?
Because I AM!!! Watching Buddy and his family making cakes and traditional Italian pastries never fails to make me drool. I tried Googl-ing for local bakeries and cafes selling Italian pastries (Yes, it's more than JUST Tiramisu when it comes to Italian pastries) some time back but to no avail.
Then when Jun suggested BRUNETTI at Tanglin Mall for my birthday treat a few weeks ago and i found out that it might just be THAT true blue italian bakery i was looking for, I WAS ON CLOUD NINE =)
BRUNETTI, Tanglin Mall
What greeted me after we found a seat at the relatively empty cafe:
Rows and rows and rows of desserts =D
Are you ready for a close-up of the pastries Brunetti offer?
Macarons!!
My dining partner - Jun! She's like one of the most adventurous friends i've known since young and she ALWAYS finds really unique dining places for us to visit whenever we meet =)
An overview of our dinner. Yes, DINNER. Me and my ingenious idea of eating only pastries as dinner just so that we can order more variety. HEHEHE.
Pear & Cheese Crumble
(Mini) Lemon Meringue Tart
We bought the mini tarts instead of a full-size one but after popping one into my mouth, i kinda hope we had ordered the large one instead. TOO YUMMY. haha.
Vanilla Cannoli
I had really high expectations for the Cannoli but the crust was not as crispy as i would want it to be =( Maybe i should try the chocolate cannoli next time?
(Mini) Chocolate Opera cake
The chocolate was rich and the combination of chocolate and coffee syrup can never go wrong, don't you think? ;)
And..what is desserts without a good cup of cuppa?
Overall, im not blown away by their desserts but to be fair, i only tried 1/10 of the pastries on display so until i've tried most of the items on the shelves, im definitely going back to Brunetti!
Until next time~
