Sweets with my sweets!

Nothing beats hanging out with my friends after a long day in school on a weekday evening =)

With most of my ex-polymates working, it's so hard for all 5 of us to meet up! Glad we finally did, after Suz came back from her BKK trip and see what she bought for us!!

Loving my new AngryBird iphone cover!!! =)

Dinner was at Aoba ramen restaurant but the food there was nothing to rave about =/ So i shall fast forward to the dessert place we went - Max Brenner, Vivo City level one.

Recommended by Zx, it's this small cafe that specialises in...CHOCOLATE-flavored drinks and desserts.

After a while, our table was filled with...(clockwise from top right) Mich's Hot Choco drink, Cheryl's Eighties Milkshake, Suz's Suckao DIY Hot Choco Shot and my Chocolate Granita.

Chocolate Granita is an ice-blended chocolate truffle drink and it tasted H-E-A-V-E-N-L-Y =) The drink was smooth and the ice was well-blended. A tasty chilled chocolate drink on the whole *smacks lips.
As for Suz's Hot Chocolate Shot, we all agreed it was a little too sweet to our liking. But if you have a sweet tooth and is craving for something rich, this might be a drink for you!

Happy us!

As for Zx, she ordered CHURROS for all of us =D yummmmmtummmtummm. What's not to love?

That sums up my "date" with my sweets, coupled with non-stop laughter and gossips in between =)

Until next time~

How to obtain 40 comments for one FB profile status?

By...talking about getting shit samples from your friends. HAHAHAHA.

It all started with me asking my friends on Facebook to volunteer for my upcoming Hons project which require human poo samples on a regular basis.
Yes, yours truly took up a project 9 out of 10 girls would turn down. haha.

Some comments really made me LOL, especially those highlighted in red! TheBF's close buddies are the funniest bunch, i swear.

And to anyone of you reading this now, if you are keen in taking part in my project (ie donating your shit sample once every month for 6 months), you can email me! teeheehee.

Until next time~

A Loser Like Me

An original song, taken from the latest episode of Glee season 2

Loser Like Me - Glee Cast

You may think that I'm a zero
But hey, everyone you wanna be
Probably started off like me
You may say that I'm a freak show
(I don't care)
But hey, give it just a little time
I bet you gonna change your mind

All of
the dirt you've been throwing my way
It ain't so hard to take
That's right
Cause I know one day you'll be screaming my
name
And I'll just look away
That's right

Just go ahead and hate on me run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the worst you've got and knock me down
Baby I don't care
Keep it up and soon enough you'll figure out
You wanna be, you wanna be
A loser like me
A loser like me

Push me up against the locker
And hey all I do is shake it off
I'll get you
back when I'm your boss
I'm not thinking about you haters
Cause hey I could be a superstar
I'll see you when you wash my car

All of the dirt you've been throwing my way
It ain't so hard to take
That's right
Cause I know one day you'll be screaming my name
And I'll just look away
That's right

Just go ahead and hate on me run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the worst you've got and knock me down
Baby I don't care
Keep it up and soon enough you'll figure out
You wanna be, you wanna be
A loser like me
A loser like me
A loser like me

Hey you over there
Keep the L up up in the air
Hey you over there
Keep the L up cause I don't care
You can
throw your sticks
And you can throw your stones
Like a rocket just watch me go yeah
L-O-S-E-R, I can only be who I are

Just go ahead and hate on me run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the worst you've got and knock me down
Baby I don't care
Keep it up and soon enough you'll figure out
You wanna be, you wanna be
A loser like me

Just go ahead and hate on me run your mouth
So everyone can hear
Hit me with the worst you've got and knock me down
Baby I don't care
Keep it up and soon enough you'll figure out
You wanna be, you wanna be

A loser like me
A loser like me

Love this song and hope you do too!

A Day at the Flea Market

One stressful week, packed with test/presentations/flea market, just ended and looking back at my older blog posts, i came to realise i rarely blog about behind-the-scenes kinda stuff for Yventually. i've been wanting to post pictures about my flea markets but i was so pre-occupied with the preparatory work most of the time i forgot to take any pictures -_-"

So this time round, i told myself "MUST BRING MY S95" because that's the whole point of getting a more compact camera isn't it!

Met Sally and Mich for a random gathering at Katong in the early afternoon on Sat since my flea market was scheduled at 7pm that evening =)

Navy lace top: LoveBonito
Black skorts: PiecesOfSummer
The bag i carried? Yventually's CAMMY handbag =)
I still have customers requesting for this bag so if, by any chance, my supplier decides to stock this again, i will definitely bring them in!

We didn't have a destination in mind so after we met, we simply strolled along the streets of Katong looking for that perfect place for lunch.

Ended up at 4 Season Taiwanese Cuisine restaurant because we were drawn by the pictures of the delicious Taiwanese food in the menu. teehee.

For a small restaurant, the menu is pretty extensive! Apart from the traditional Taiwanese food like 卤肉饭, 蚝仔面线 and 超大鸡排, they also included Hongkong and Japanese-themed cuisine as well.

I stayed true to my 红烧牛肉面 while Sally and Mich picked Fried Udon and 盐酥鸡 set meal respectively =)

I always love how Taiwanese beef noodle soup taste like (somebody give me 三商巧福牛肉麵 anytime!) but detest the fact that beef tendons are used. This explains why my bowl was still filled with beef chunks after the meal. What a dilemma. haha.

Check out my Grass Jelly Milk Tea!! I love the picture below because my face looked DAMN SMALL?! hahahah.

Rushed home to take a quick nap before heading out to Singapore Arts Museum for Flea-tique's Late Night Flea edition.

Dad was not available to drive me to SAM so i had to hail a cab and dragged all the big bags and whatnot out of the house myself. Thank gdness Nisha volunteered to help me for the first few hours of the flea market! I've always been blessed with so many supportive friends and it really makes preparing and attending flea markets and bazaars less of a chore =)

I looked like i have a bigger butt in my skorts!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

If you spot a bag that has not been seen on Yventually, they are new designs to be launched soon ;)

Sales wasn't as good as i expected, maybe because the performances at SAM did not attract as much crowd as the annual Museum Open House.
So glad Shirley and HP were at the stalls beside me so i wouldn't be so bored after Nisha left!

When i finally reached home at 2am that day, i just wanted to dive into my bed =X Flea markets always drain my energy out because i feel that no matter how tired i may be as time passes by, i got to make sure everyone is happy shopping at my booth. So i tend to push myself a little too hard at times. Nevertheless, i hope everyone is happy with their purchase that day!!! =)

Until next time~

Be My Valentine

My first Social Inequality Socio midterms this afternoon and im all worn out. Why did i take a sociology module this semester? Why why whyyyyyy. Doesn't help that the lecturer, albeit famous, talks in circles during lessons -__-" Surprisingly, the course textbook by Edgell was so much easier to "digest" than lectures.
Like i tweeted this afternoon, "Dear Marx, Weber, Miliband and Darhendorf, pls have some mercy on me" sigh.

Anyhows, pictures from my Valentine's Day celebration!! Yes, that V-day that happened like A MONTH ago. hur hur hur.

This Vday, theBF and i decided not to get each other gifts (poor students, we are. period)
Instead, we treated each other to a meal of good food =)

Vday PART ONE

On Feb 14 itself, we met for dinner at this quaint little cafe located in Shaw Towers that i picked - Hairloom & Caramel Cafe! =) The interesting thing about this cafe is its half-cafe/half-salon concept!

Don't you just love the whole cozy vintage feel?

Im a sucker for cards and for every occasion theBF and i celebrate, i make sure i have a card prepared because for me, nothing beats a handwritten card, written with sincerity and love =) This year, i included a short verse of Paul McCartney's "Silly Love Songs" because...i was listening to songs by Glee while writing the card. HAHAHAHA.

Unfortunately, stupid bf doesn't share the same sentiments about cards like i do so he totally forgot to get me a card. SEE, YOU TELL YOUR MAN YOU DUN NEED FLOWERS & GIFTS AND THEY FORGOT ABOUT CARDS AS WELL -__-" i shall harp on this matter till our anniversary in June. HAHAHAHAHA.

Food came!

Love my salmon pasta in cream pink sauce (right) while theBF's bratwurst sausage spaghetti was pretty much normal.

And here's me, looking upset without a card =P

Ending our night with desserts at 记得吃 along Liang Seah Street. 雪花冰 (shaven ice) is just dope!

Vday PART TWO

Finally found time amidst our crazy school, my blogshop and his training schedule for dinner at Senki Japanese Restaurant. His time to treat me this time round and we went for their dinner buffet! =D

Check out how they spelt my name on the reservation slip:

YBONN?!!?!?!?!?! Epic failure. theBF laughed SO HARD i swear i wana slap him. Then he went on to Facebook on his iphone and wrote "Hi, are you Ybonn?"on my wall. FML.

Happy us awaiting for our first round of food!

I'm in my new puff-sleeves blazer from Hollyhoque! Love the cut (similar to BC's famous blazer) and love the puff-sleeves details even more!!

All in all, we ordered a WHOLE LOT OF FOOD (buffet wad) and here are some of my favorites:

The dish besides the unagi is actually potato wedges with fish roe and cheese!! Very innovative combination and me like! The gyoza and well-marinated chicken wings were hits too!

Then, the waiter came out of the kitchen with this huge bowl of salmon head and told us "it's complimentary" We were...shocked to say the least. haha. I mean, it's HUGE can.

Check out our "how to finish the fish?!" faces. HAHA.

In between orders, we were challenging each other on Words free! How is it possible that theBF always come up with big words and me with stupid words like POCK -___-"

And last but not least, a picture of us both =) And that's after almost 2.5 hours of dinner. teehee.

Until next time!

Bag-a-Thought - R&Em Spring 2011

I'm a big fan of Rebecca Minkoff's bags! Morning After Clutch, Morning After Bag, MAB Bombe, Swing...you name it, i want to own it!! However,as much as i enjoy ogling at the pictures of their bags on their website (Oh, and i jumped in delight when i saw a girl carrying a fuchsia MAC at Orchard 2 days ago!), im still unsure about forking out US$500 for a bag given my pathetic savings
*stares at bank acct and SIGH*

Now imagine my joy when i know R&Em was launched last month! It's a subsidiary brand under RM corporation and aims to sell quality bags under US$100 *dances around*

Continuing RM's style, their first Spring 2011 collection consisted of a wide range of accessories from edgy handbags, adorable pouches in the most gorgeous colors and crossbody bags lined with studs and whatnot. TOTALLY MY STYLE =)

Here are some of my favorites:

Studded ipad case / Mustard Gig crossbody bag

Runaway tote and "Dare" & "Truth" pouches

pink "Fashionista" pouch

The Face of R&Em - Fashion blogger Keiko Lynn with the small Woodstock bag in Blush.

Aren't the collection yummy?! The pouches are to-die-for =) I'll did buy a "Truth/Dare" pouch set for each of my girlfriends and we can all go shopping carrying these adorable pouches! haha.

Like all bag collections, there are hits and misses. I didn't quite get the denim and straw satchels (not featured here) but apart from that, most of the pieces are eye-catching and wayyyy more affordable than RM. =)

More bags from the launch party at Macy's NY and the happy Keiko Lynn!

Most of the bags are now for sale at all Macy's outlets and Macys.com!!

As for me, i shall keep my fingers (and toes) crossed that Gorgor bring back the following bags after his US trip by the end of March. teehee.

Until next time~

Hatched!

Im officially down with flu+cough+sore throat =( I bet all the germs and viruses in my body were waiting for the opportunity to wreck havoc and the perfect chance came when i was stuck inside a freezing cold lecture theatre for 2 whole hours without a cardigan. Been feeling like shit since Mon night and i just hope this bad feeling will go away soon. BOOOOOO.

Decided to blog about something happy to cheer myself up and that has got to be my outing with Jun just before i left for Bangkok last week!

Jun managed to borrow her family car for our outing!! Therefore, we decided to go somewhere that is normally inaccessible by public transport - HATCHED, along Evans Road.

Hatched is an egg-themed cafe/restaurant that serves all-day breakfast (with eggs of course!) We were spoilt for choices. One min, i wanted scrambled egg and the other i wanted poached egg. Oh so very fickle-minded indeed. It doesn't help that the menu is designed with cutesy cartoons and prints! haha.

In the end, i settled for this scrambled egg dish served with smoked salmon and sauteed potatoes (me likey!) while Jun had scrambled eggs with Chorizo sausages~

I LOVE MY PAPILOTTE!! The salmon slices didn't taste as raw as it looks, with a tinge of smoked flavor to it. Together with the scrambled egg and bread, it forms a unique but tasty combination =) Much to our surprise, Jun's Chorizo sausages tasted much like our chinese La Chang. It would have been better if Bratwurst sausages were used?

2 happy diners!

I like how my eyes looked so much bigger with the help of my falsies! HAHAHA.

My night ended with Kumar's Amazing Race show at the Esplanade with my fatty bro =) It was M18 and i was pretty sure bro was like the youngest in the crowd and possibly one of those who clapped and laughed the loudest. LOL. Enjoyed myself thoroughly and can't wait for the next one next year! Chris Rock, pls come to Singapore too!! =P

Don't forget Im launching at 4pm on Fri (4 March) yup! Yventually.livejournal.com!!

Until next time~
