Food for Thought

My love for food and penchant for hunting new eateries started with my family because my parents are such adventurous people when it comes to trying out new food places. That kinda explains why i love my chicken backside (yes, chicken butt. haha), deep fried fish egg and all other weird food. haha.

So we had family brunch at Tung Lok Seafood, East Coast outlet last week after watching BuffetBuffet 2 on TV recommending this restaurant ;)

LUNCH DIMSUM BUFFET!

Their extensive menu that includes both dimsum and chinese dishes!

I would highly recommend reservation to be made prior to visit because i could only get a slot at 1.30pm for 4 (on a Saturday) when i did my reservation online though the buffet started from 11.30am. We arrived at the restaurant at 1pm, and managed to get seated right away!! =)

Fully packed on a weekend noon!

Since my parents are too shy to appear on my blog, i shall show u a sideview of my bro instead. Haha.

Time for some food porn =P

Deep fried fish skin
Recommended on TV! i know it does not exactly look appetizing but looks can be deceiving. Extremely crispy and light with no fishy smell. LOOOOVE IT!

Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow)

Siew Mai
A definite must-have when dim sum is concerned but i have to say the siew mai at the outlet is not exactly impressive. Victor's Kitchen still beats hands down.

Deep Fried Fish Belly

Egg Yolk Lava Bun
The biggest disappointment of the day. No flowy egg yolk lava when i opened it up! =((

Smoked duck slices
YUM YUM YUMMMMY.

Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaf
Dad liked the fragrant of the rice being wrapped in the lotus leaf and how the chicken dices were being marinated!

Steamed Phoenix Claws
Decent stuff indeed! Love the sauce and how well it goes with the chicken feet =)

Fried Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimps
Crispy on the outside accompanied with succulent shrimps on the inside. Ok, im gona start salivating thinking about them =/

Mini Egg Tarts

And the final dish that came that day was...
Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce
Such a wrong choice to eat this last because THE GARLIC TASTE LINGERS IN YOUR MOUTH after the meal =( Only my bro enjoyed the dish while mum and i tried to down as many cups of chinese tea to get rid of the after taste. lol.

Left the restaurant with 4 happy and bloated tummies!! haha. The ambience and service were pretty good so i believe i'll be back for more ;)

Until next time!

This season, it's all about L.O.V.E

My favorite season of the year is fasttttt approaching, as long as i can get through my exams in 2 weeks that is. Ok, before i start sidetracking again, this blog entry is dedicated to Collection 72 of Yventually!! =) The LONG-AWAITED (too long) self-manufactured clutches are hereeeeeeeeee!

As of all other self-manufactured items, we did an outdoor shoot! This time round, it was at LaSalle, College of the Arts. Did you manage to guess the theme of this shoot given all the 3 sneak pic i posted on our Twitter and Facebook/Fanpage? One customer got it right actually. The theme was...LOVE =)

I am always attracted to Tiffany and Co's campaigns and advertorials, especially the ones featuring couple shots! Here's a couple:

Notice how the blue box pops in the pictures and gawd, the happy looks on the couple always turn me into mush. Then, when i saw more of such pictures on a random fashion magazine one day, i knew this is the theme i want for my clutch ;)

Love love loveeee the huge patch of grass and architecture of the college!

My "slave" of the day, who came straight from a wedding reception! haha.
Note to self: never get someone who's more comfortable being in front of the camera than behind to be the Behind-the-scene cameraman because you will end up with lotsa pics of herself and blurred/slanted/blurred and slanted pics of the others. LOL.

My modelS of the day! In case you are wondering, i roped Su's real BF in reality in for this shoot too! Thank you Joel, for being so spontaneous!!

And the shoot began!!

You will not be able to see a single front shot of the photographer with messy hair (ME) because as it turns out, ALL PICS OF ME ARE BLUR =( And i realise i have such unglam shooting poses with all the squatting, kneeling and being bare-foot. LOL.

Mess of the day! =P

Really happy with the pictures so look out for the LookBook that i will be posting at yventually.livejournal.com in less than 24hours! =)

In case you are wondering, i kept the BLACK clutch =) I kept Renee satchel in Nude, D&G-inspired wedges in Nude and Heartshape cut-out pumps in Grey/Nude/Gold so yea, i think keeping the Black version of this clutch is a good choice. haha.

With its detachable chain strap, it's a good bag to carry around in town/for short shopping trips (i bring it to Holland V all the time to get my dinner since hostel's food starting to bore me) and yet elegant and classy enough for dinners/parties!!!

At my Halloween sleepover.

And to Tunglok for a family brunch and shopping with theBF! Notice the 2 different ways i carried it?

Like Renee bag, the material I picked for this design is just as good! =) And the ruched design is simply the icing on the cake. Exceptional workmanship in my opinion! I heard the manufacturing factory had to send the bags to a 3rd party factory to get the ruched details sewn just to make sure it is being done right so imagine the dedication of the supplier and factories put into this design. And like i say, im more than satisfied with the end product!

Do support the clutch when it's being launched on TUESDAY ok?? hehehe.

Until next time!
