Science D&D

School have not ended for me but i've already attended my Dinner&Dance! haha. It's actually a Pageant-Dinner&Dance event organised by the Science Club of NUS and is part of the Freshman Orientation Project, which is why this took place at the start of semester one!

Actually, i barely know anyone there since i didn't join the orientation camps this year due to my Hons schedule but since Sam suggested our Uni clique should attend a formal dinner together before we all go our separate ways upon graduation, i went along with them =)

Dinner's at Conrad Centennial!

The very elaborate dinner passes =)

All 6 of us, minus a few others who didn't join us! We were also known as the poly clique because all of us's from different polytechnics =)

Start of the Pageant finale!! I think im a little too old for this kinda thing because all of the contestants look like little kids to me :/

Food for the night! Normal, i guess?

I was actually glad our table was situated right at the back because we were happily talking and snapping pictures among ourselves in between meals even though there were performances and catwalks going on on stage. lol. Ops

Oh, the highlight of the night was when.....

I WON 3RD PRIZE IN THE LUCKY DRAW!!! =D

It was a Shiseido "hamper" and $20 Jean West vouchers but i gave the latter to Sam because he went on stage to collect the prize for me as i was too shy. hahaha.

What's in my hamper? Tons of free samples -__-

Was expecting more from the hamper, given the fact that it's 3rd prize?!?! But i'm still overjoyed because i've never won anything in a lucky draw in my entire life! hehehe.

Pic with my bestfriend-"mentor/problem solver" in Uni =D

And another happy pic of us TP girls =) Totally miss my poly days just looking at these pictures.

Oh oh oh, did i mention we won the TABLE PRIZE too?!?! Woohoo! However, the prize consisted of this specs vouchers which after we calculated, is basically worthless. HAHAHA.

The night ended with the crowning of the Science Queen/King!

Honestly, the programme for this D&D was a tad boring but im glad i went with the right company and well, this being my first D&D, im sure the next one's gonna be better!!!

Korea Lovin'

Haven been a diligent blogger these days =( Spending close to 10hours in the lab each day, slogging to no results is a plain torture. And my only motivation these days comes from meeting friends and theBF for dinner after a long day in school. To see familiar faces over even a simple meal like dinner keeps me sane, so here's another Food&Friends post =)

The need to relive our Korean days was so strong twin, YL, CL and i opted for Korean cuisine for our meetup once again!!! haha.

HYANG TO GOL Restaurant, Amara Hotel!!

It's not hard to guess who's working and who's still stuck in school (me/CL) just by the way we dress. haha.

The Menu =)

The hot pot we picked - Spicy Assorted Seafood!

Still amazed at the wide variety of side dishes/appetisers that are served before each Korean meal. Love love LOVEEEEE those beansprouts!

Spicy pork (or is it chicken? oh dear, my Alzheimer's at it again -_-)

The not-very-yummy-looking Kimchi Pancake that tasted HEAVENLY!!!

Our giant seafood hotpot~

Oh and how can my Korean meal not be completed without Rice Wine ;)

And a group photo (taken under badddd lighting.)!!

This restaurant has been Twin's favorite and seeing so many Koreans patronising it confirm its authenticity too! If you are not on a budget, this would be a good place to dine!

Oh, and since we are on the topic on Korean food, i want to recommend my new found love for Korean maggi mee =D

Got this off a Korean store (Sol Mart, Tampines One) one day when i simply had no idea what to buy for dinner. I can't read Korean characters for nuts so i picked the instant noodles with English words that i recognise - OTTOGI Ramen Bokki!

Totally totally remind me of that yummy Rabboki i had at Edae when i was in Korea =)

Comes with 2 sauce satchels...

Pour out the hot water after 10mins (Ramen bokki is meant to be eaten dry!)

Mix everything well...

TA-DAH, good to eat!!

It's a little spicy but really addictive =D They have it in a bigger bowl but i feel you'll tend to get a little sick of the sauce after a while so a big bowl's too much for me. Perhaps with some additional ingredients thrown in (meatballs, crabsticks?), the big bowl will be a better choice.

Alrighty, that is all for now! Imma go bathe, put on a mask and get ready for NUS SCIENCE D&D tonight! Barely know any pageant contestants but i'm gonna be there for the food and Uni friends =) Ah Cheong, why chiu no go?!! =P

Until next time~

Landslide

Been so long since i posted a nice song from Glee ever since i finished watching season 2 but i came across this song some time ago and it hit the nail on the head. First sung by Fleetwood Mac, then Dixie Chicks and now Gwyneth Paltrow in Glee, this song has actually been interpreted in many different ways..so what's yours? =)

Landslide

I took my love, I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills

Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?

Can the child within my heart rise above?

Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Mmm, mmm, mmm

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Oh, I'm getting older too

Awh, take my love, take it down

Awh, climb a mountain and turn around

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

Oh, the landslide bring it down

Fika

Phew, finally, some time to blog! =) A food post, to be specific! Food never fails to keep me happy (and fat, at the same time -__-) hahaha.

Oh oh, before that, pictures of me in my D&G inspired wedges in CLASSY NUDE =) Chose this color over Nude Pink because of its yellow undertones that will match my tanned skin!

PRETTYYYY! Ok, i know i shouldn't be so self-absorbed in this Yventually item but hey, im proud of my merchandises ;) hehehe.

And so Queen Nisha finally came home from London and we celebrated her birthday at Fika, http://www.fikacafe.com/, a Swedish restaurant at Arab Street!

With Nisha, we always made sure the food's Halal!

Restaurant's pretty packed on a weekday evening and we forgot to make reservations. Nevertheless, the boss was nice enough to open up an additional table for us outside the restaurant =D

A Swedish restaurant will never lack...MEATBALLS!! haha.

While waiting for the food to come, Nisha brought out the souvenirs she bought for me and SH from Paris! She's SUPPOSE to wait for us both to go Paris together next year but she couldn't resist the temptation when she was in London last month and went without us =( SH and i kicked up a big fuss so she got us pretty gifts from Paris. haha.

MY EIFFEL TOWER PEN!! =D This is wayyyy too gorgeous in real life! The Eiffel tower miniature is simply dope!

And it changes color!!! *proceeds to skip around like no one's watching*

Well, SH couldn't care less about my pen because...she finally got her hands on that Chanel earrings she's been eyeing for ages :P

Then we gave Nisha her belated bday presents! This year's theme was LEOPARD, her favorite prints. haha.

Erm yea, we picked the hottest bra set for her and threw in a leopard prints accessories holder! HAHAHA.

Food came after quite a while and since the Swedish meatballs contain beef, SH ordered the grilled chicken!

Both Nisha and i ordered their meatballs set but erm...we were so hungry we started gobbling down the food and forgot to take pics :/ OPS. Well, the meatballs tasted and looked similar to those of Ikea, but more in quantity (given the price we pay!!) Comes with the potatoes (really delicious and soft!) and salad SH had =D

So since there is no pic of meatballs, i shall make an abrupt jump to DESSERT! hahahah. We had Apple Crumble Pie with IceCream!! Yum yum yum~

I actually had a great time at this restaurant, perhaps due largely to the company i had =) Oh, their service was worth mentioning too! Friendly and attentive waiters/waitresses always make a good dining experience!

Okie dokie, i guess that's all for now! Until next time!

Behind-the-Scene: Collection 67

With the promise to opt for outdoor shoot whenever we launch a self-manufactured product for Yventually, Su and i had an early shoot last week for the D&G-inspired wedges =D

I decided on skypark at Vivo City since i still had no idea how to get to the Double Helix bridge near MBS. hehehe.

Since i had no assistants as usual that day (everyone's working/studying =( Sigh), i had to make sure we bring as little things as possible! Our japalangs for the day:

Our official preview will be up right after i post this blog entry so do hop over to yventually.livejournal.com later k!!

Here's some of my favourite pics that didn't make it to the preview (too many pretty pics!! hehehe)

So loving how the pics turned out! I swear by the time we are on to our 3rd outfit, the sun was blazing hot -__-'' Poor Su had to pretend she's enjoying the weather when in reality, we were perspiring like mad. haha.

In between shots, Su took some impromptu pictures! :P

See, told you the weather's crazy. Model complaining about the heat already!! haha.

The occasional wind threatened to lift Su's dress. This is her Marilyn Monroe-pose. haha.

Ok, model's going nuts under the sun she wished she had a...moustache?? lol.

Then Su had the idea of getting me changed into one of the outfits we brought and do some shots with her. I agreed, reluctantly, because i look so amateur whenever i pose right beside her! Not forgetting her eyes are twice the size of mine? HAHAHA.

Oh, just when we were happily coming up with nonsensical poses, totally oblivious to our surroundings, 2 ladies walking past us stopped and asked "Are you guys from Yventually?"

LOL. Can't believe we got recognised when i was at my most UNGLAMOROUS self -__-" Don't believe me? Here's how i looked like:

HOW UNGLAM CAN I GET?!?!?! lol. But it was a really cute gesture, and it's always good to know that people relate Su to our blogshop though she's not exclusively modelling for Yventually =) If you are one of the ladies who passed by that day, HELLO!!! =D

Okie, that's all for our behind-the-scene entry~ Im gona go post up the actual preview now over at our shop and go to bed before another long day in the lab tomorrow.

Our next launch will be on TUESDAY, NATIONAL DAY!!! 8pm sharp!

Until next time~
