Ops, my blog's collecting dust as my lab schedule gets a little hectic with the arrival of the Jap visiting guests. Haven't even been able to do up the preview for the next launch although all pics have been edited. Maybe i should do a surprise launch soon? ;)

Anyhows, pictures of my favorite dog on the world wide web at the moment!

Meet BOO:

Never was a big fan of Pormeranian but Boo is toooooo cute! I like how his short hair made him look like a cub! He has a facebook page btw, and a internet phenomenon now. haha. Go "Like" him ;)

Before i end this short entry, in case you haven't seen these...

Yes, D&G inspired wedges are here!!!!!!! *skips around. Im hoping for a shoot this Fri so i can launch in 2 weeks time so keeping my fingers crossed!

Advertorial: TheAmiableShop

A close poly-friend recently opened a blogshop, specialising in accessories and cardigans! The good thing about having friends who own blogshops is...you get to pick from the wide range of products FIRST-HAND! :P

If you know me personally, you'll did know that im a "Ring" person. I've got a small bag (yes, bag is the word) of rings in my wardrobe that i pick from to match all my outfits so when Suz allowed me to pick a few rings from her blogshop TheAmiableShop for this review advertorial, i was more than thrilled!! hehe.

I spent a good 20mins staring at all the rings they had before me before making my choice. Some of the rings that caught my eye...

STARSSSSS! =)

Silver or Gold Owl?? Hmmm...

I like the whole Spring feel these floral rings exude =)) Particularly attracted to D! So pretty, don't you think?

And more owls!! haha.

The black camera reminds me of my DSLR and was thinking it will look cute if i were to wear it during my photoshoot while taking pictures! lol.

In the end, i ended up with...

Edgy sunglasses ring! =D

Suz also asked me to pick 2 smaller rings from their Mix & Match section (any 3 designs for just $10!) and guess what? There are 2 different ways to wear them! =)

WHY SO ADORABLE. haha.

Then i digged out the rainbow ring that i owned from my bag of rings and paired it with my loots...

Me like =))

Apart from rings, they have other stuff too!

Honestly, i prefer blazers over cardigans on most days as structured looks suit me better but if you like girly cardigans (think ribbon and sweet dainty colors!), TheAmiableShop has a couple of designs too ;)

Oh oh, and HANDPHONE COVERS!! How can anyone resists such CUTE polka dot covers?? =) So mad love!!

You can find all these products under their What's Available: http://theamiableshop.livejournal.com/4507.html

Or join their mailing list here: http://theamiableshop.livejournal.com/1409.html

Have fun shopping!!

Collection 65 - Heart of the Matter

Phew, finally done up the preview for tomorrow's launch. My initial plans was to include some bags as well but i doubt i can handle the workload since it's another day of lab for me on Fri =(

And there is no behind-the-scene blog entry for this launch too. BOO. I wanted all self-manufactured items to be shot outdoors but I couldn't get a car or assistants for help this time round so decided on a short photoshoot at the park near my place, just me and Su! =)

Let's just say the shoot is filled with....RED ANTS' BITES -_-" We spent every 2 mins staring at the grass patches to make sure neither of us was standing on the red ants after i got bitten by a group of these small but VERY NASTY creatures in the middle of the shoot. The sacrifices you have to make being a noob photographer. haha.

Here's the link to our preview! Go take a look because i love some of the pictures there =))
http://yventually.livejournal.com/40660.html

I know this pair of pumps took FOREVER to arrive since i last had the survey on Yventually, a reason being my supplier and i wanted to perfect the heart-shape cutout as it is, afterall, the focus of the shoes. Really glad the colors we picked and shape turned out pretty =))

In case you still have no clue, we manufactured the shoes in 4 colors!!
Slate Grey, Champagne Gold, Classy Nude & Rosy Peach!

The girls at my supplier took a color each, while Suz, Mich and ZX took Rosy Peach and my childhood friends took Champagne Gold on top of the peach ones =))

For me? Initially, i only kept the Champagne Gold one...

P.S. yea, Su wears apparels from my personal stash as you can see from the identical outfit in the shoot and in my own WIW pics. HAHA. Any online shops that would like to sponsor Yventually apparels for our photoshoot can email me and we'll see if anything can be worked out ;)

But upon looking at the Classy Nude for the longest time, i decided I NEED A PAIR OF THAT AS WELL :D I absolutely hate it when nude tones don't look as pretty on screen as in real life (think Renee in Classy Nude. same sad story T.T) but i swear it's gorgeous in reality!!

Best closeup shot i can find to depict the actual color:

Anyway, see you all at the launch tomorrow at 4pm!!!

Time for Dim Sum

A craving for dimsum (well, MY craving to be exact. haha) led me and theBF to hunt for a popular but well-hidden dimsum eatery at Sunshine Plaza a sunny Saturday noon =)

Victor's Kitchen!!
Heard so much raving about this place so we decided to try it out! It was jam-packed with customers when we arrived but thankfully gotten a small table (albeit squashed between 2 other tables of customers :/) within 5 mins.

Prices are reasonable, with each dimsum dish ranging between S$3-S$4.50...

To be honest, theBF and i were not the least impressed with the place during our first 20mins in the eatery because we were seated near to the cashier where the 2 ladybosses were basically shouting at each other in Canto. I've no idea what the whole hoo-ha was about but from the raised voices and all, it's not a pleasant conversation.

Worst of all, after we ordered, theBF was served the wrong drink so we informed one of the Chinese staff (polite and apologetic) and brought the drink back to the cashier only to have another (not so friendly) canto-speaking lady bring the WRONG drink back to our table and LEFT without a word. HUH?! So we are SUPPOSE to drink the wrongly-served drink because the shop's too busy to serve us the right one?

We didn't pursue the matter (ladybosses STILL arguing so no, i do not wish for any one of them to have the chance of embarassing us as well) but deep down in my heart, i can't wait for the food to arrive so i can leave the place asap.

Thankfully, the chinese staff who were serving us "saved" the day by being ever-so-attentive and courteous when delivering our food. They politely and quickly changed our spoons when theBF thought ours were a little dirty and made sure we were notified that the bamboo steamers were hot etc. They really made me change my mind about Victor's Kitchen by the end of our meal.

Anyhows, moving on to happier things...pictures of FOOOOOOD =)

Iced Yuan Yang for me, served in a bowl of ice! VERY HK-STYLE!!!

Victor's King Prawn Dumpling - Piping hot, succulent and crunchy prawns. Yumyum~

Prawn Chee Cheong Fun - Skin is smooth but too little prawns to my liking. If you like char siew, maybe their Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun would be a better choice ;)

Steamed Pork Ribs - theBF's favorite =) Please don't expect it to be filled with meat because, it's not meant to be! haha. Love the sauce...delicious stuff!

Siew Mai - MY FAVORITE!!! Every bite is filled with the juicy pork bits and fragrance of the mushroom :D You get the drift!

Egg Yolk Lava Bun - Now this dish is a tricky one, I personally like the salty filling that is oozing out of the bun (im not a fan of sweet char siew buns) but you can get really sick of the taste after a bun or 2. So yea, i tink it'll be good to share with friends so you can savor this dish =)

Conclusion: The dimsum there is above average and Im now tempted to try the other dishes such as carrot carrot in XO sauce! Overall a satisfactory meal. However, i'll did visit the place on a weekday or at non-peak hours because i seriously don't like being squashed in between seats and tables :/

As for the ladyboss, she actually smiled at us and thanked us repeatedly as we made payment at the cashier before we left. theBF and i looked at each other as we walked out of the store, amazed at her politeness and then laughed at the extreme difference in attitude within the span of an hour. haha.

For the sake of good dim sum, i say i'll pop by the place again and hopefully the experience will be a much better one ;)

Education's Purpose is to Replace an Empty Mind with an Open one.

NUS Commencement will end tomorrow and though I have another year to go before graduation (*dreads), I have been busy attending various sessions, buying flowers and bears for the past couple of days because so many friends graduated! 3 days, 4 Commencement sessions is no joke! haha.

Thurs, LIFE SCIENCE graduation ceremony

Greeted by the rows of NUS Grad bears and lions near the entrance! Friend joked the lions' mane seems so hard to maintain that they should provide a free comb with any purchase of the Grad Lion. hahaha.

Dr-Lee-to-be rushing into the robing room before the ceremony! hehehe.

SH's turn to get dressed for the event. So uber sad that she graduated because i now have one less best friend in school and one less lunch partner =((

And the photo-taking frenzy began!!

In case you are wondering what I was doing with a stupid picture of Nisha, that woman is happily interning in London now and couldn't come back in time for SH's graduation so she suggested me bringing a portrait of her. And i did, much to her surprise. HAHAHA. Well, school's never complete without this genius :P

I made everyone's day with that picture, with friends shouting "be careful, don't crumple Nisha!!!" every now and then -__-" LOL

Fri, CHEMISTRY/ECONS graduation ceremonies

Went back to school the very next day for an early session for Chemistry students because dear SY graduated =))

Met some OG seniors outside the hall too =)

Miss Smarty-pants! haha

Rushed to supplier to settle stuff and BACK to NUS at night for YL's Grad Ceremony. Yea, 2 ceremonies in one day at the far west end of Singapore almost killed me :/

CL's obsessed with YL's little grad bear we got her!! She secretly wants to swap hers with YL but was stopped by me, of course. AHHAHA.

CL came up with this photoshoot idea with YL standing in the midst of the crazy crowd. With the help of a little photoshop, picture turned out pretty ;) What a brilliant idea!

Met some of my secondary classmates who came in their grad gowns though some are not even from NUS! haha. Cute la =)

Sun, CHINESE STUDIES graduation ceremony

A common sight at any grad ceremony: Cohort shoot!

I am SOOO doing this for my graduation!!

KT's turn to graduate =)

Oh oh, last pic of the day. Me and (not) my mortar board cap! =D

Okie dokie, that's all for NUS commencement 2011 =) Hopefully in exactly one yr's time, i will be posting pics of my own graduation ceremony. It's yet another case of so near yet so far, but i know im almost there, almost =)

Good night y'all!

Until next time~
