My Birthday - 23rd Dec

One week has passed since my birthday and i still have tons of photos to upload onto this blog. Not very efficient of me, i've got to admit. haha. Well, at least right now i'm finally got to post up pictures of my actual birthday!! =D This is what happens when you have no New Year party to head to and just want a breather from Yventually stuff that you've been doing all afternoon after you came back from the gym.

Oh, talking about Yventually, Im LAUNCHING TOMORROW (1st Jan) AT 11AM!!! =D Preview pictures are up here: http://yventually.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/preview-for-collection-54/

Ok, back to my birthday!

So A asked me what kind of cuisine i prefer for my birthday lunch and "Indian food" just came to my mind. So random isn't it? haha. As a result, the both of us ended up at Mirchi, this Indian restaurant located in Esplanade Mall!

We looked as if we had the ENTIRE restaurant to ourselves because throughout our 1-hour lunch, there was no one else =X

While waiting for our food, i received my first birthday gift of the day (i thought it was my only gift at that point of time actually. more about that later) - Simpsons-themed 2011 Organiser!! It was maddddd cuteeeeeee. I am a big fan of Simpsons and Family Guy so this organiser came as a really pleasant surprise!

Food came shortly!

Clockwise from left: Briyani rice, Garlic Naan, Tikka Fish Curry and Tandoori Chicken.

Overall, food was yummy and tasted pretty authentic with the strong spice flavors and what not. The fish chunks in the curry were hugeeeee. Thank gdness we decided to just order half a chicken or we'll did have to get the restaurant manager to dine with us. HAHHAHAA. We could barely finish the rice too! It was in such big portion! However, i'm still glad we went ahead with ordering the Naan. How can we not have Naan in an Indian meal yes? =)

Just as I was busy snapping pictures of the restaurant and us after the meal, A took out a tiny red box and went "Nah, your birthday gift la" LOL. Turns out, that was part 2 of my birthday gift - A lovely heart-shaped necklace =D

Went for our movie afterwhich! The Little Fockers was kinda funny, though i think it was the least entertaining among the Fockers series. Enough said.

We wanted to go for ice cream after the movie but I was still bloated from the heavy lunch (Protein and Carbs-filled lunch, to be exact) so I suggested getting ourselves drinks from the HK Cafe at Marina Sq. It puzzled me why the supposedly full BF was enthusiastically looking at the desserts menu and insisted he wants a pudding but when the food came and he happily took out his self-prepared candle and lighter, i knew exactly what this is all about. HE IS LOOKING FOR A SUBSTITUTE FOR MY BIRTHDAY CAKE. LOL.

Notice how my candle wobbled in the soft pudding? HAHA. Just too cute, la.

According to my family's tradition, we have to meet for birthday dinner on the day of the birthday itself so i went to meet my mum and bro for some steamboat at Crystal Jade. IT WAS AWFUL. I guess my family has high expectations of the food, perhaps? Oh well. It's the company that matters eh? Too bad Dad's out of town but he did give me an angbao instead. HEHEHE.

Alright, i shall end off my post here =) I hope everyone is having a blast now at the new year parties~

Until next time~

Xmas Gathering at Nex

Unlike my other group of friends, twin, cl, yl and i do not buy birthday gifts for each other. Instead, we treat each other to a meal of good food! They actually treated me to the Suan Thai dinner last week so this time rd, we got together for our annual Xmas gathering/gift exchange instead!

With all the raving about the new mall at Serangoon, we headed to Nex Mall for our dinner! The place is H-U-G-E and packed with SOOOOOOOOO many food outlets!!

In the end, we settled for dinner at the Ajisen restaurant.

Tried the Black Ramen but it was nothing to rave about. Bleah. Shall go back to Nex to try the other restaurants! Walked around the megamall and decided to go for healthy yogurt at this pretty yogurt place called SOGURT!!!

It has a DIY concept so all of us had so much fun choosing our yogurt flavors and of course, filling our cups with yummylicious yogurt!!! =)

In the end, we settled for Peach Mango (All 4 of us loved this flavor!), Pomegranate, Chocolate (Yes, chocolate! It tasted like our usual chocolate ice cream cone btw) and Grape!

Then it was time to add our toppings!

D-i-g i-n!!!!

Our gift exchange happened right after we stuffed ourselves with the delicious yogurt. haha. This yr, we have a budget of $15 each and CL came up with her very own lots-drawing system using the receipt from our dinner. hahaha.

Everyone is HAPPYYYYYY with our gifts! I think twin's present suits her BEST. DRINKING TIC-TAC-TOE game for the alcoholic girl? PURRRFCT. HAHAHA.

Until next time~

BEST picnic of my life (Birthday Part I)

On a sunny weekday, a few days before my birthday, SH, Nisha, Sally and i head out to Sentosa for our picnic!!!

And i finally found the right occasion to don my HollyHoque Maxi dress which has been hanging in my wardrobe for quite some time now =X

I was totally kept in the dark about the theme of the picnic/what everyone was supposed to bring/how everyone is gonna dress up (they wanted to surprise me) except for the "it's a tai-tai occasion" clue from SH -__-" Hence, i was really stunned to see everyone with bags of food at the mrt station when we met!

You know why? Because i was told to bring ONLY A PACKET OF FRIES TO THE PICNIC!! hahahahah. Pathetic much? I was still wondering who brings FRIES (one small packet to be exact) to a picnic meant for 4! lol.

We planned to head to Siloso beach but blur us took the wrong tram and ended up at Tanjong beach instead! However, i would say it's a blessing in disguise because that ulu beach was really quiet that day and it felt like we owned the entire beach =D Coolness.

Setting up our little picnic spot...

I was really touched by how much effort everyone put in in preparing for the food =) In the end, i was told that the theme for that day's picnic was ENGLISH.

Sally bought Beard Papa, SH brought big juicy strawberries and hotdogs+croissants while Nisha brought sandwiches and fruit salad, topped with delicious and healthy yogurt!!! Kudos to Nisha's mum who helped her prepare the salad because the original version lacked many ingredients =P OPS, Nisha, im sorry i spilled the beans here. KEKEKE. Well, as for me, i've already mentioned - fries. enough said.

Our playlist of the day: Glee's Christmas Album *hops ard in glee* (pun intended)

Then, after our sinful brunch, they presented me with my birthday gifts =) Bunny headgear, some cash (to sponsor my digicam which im getting by the end of this yr!!) and a melted slice of cake. Thanks girlsssssss *hearts*

I look cute in my bunny ears eh? haha.

With Nisha around, the cam-whoring can never be stopped. I present to you, the OTHER bunny girls:

And of course, some of our cam-whoring pics at the beach! I gave the girls their Xmas gifts (chocolate roses!) and they became the purrrrfect props for our cam-whoring sessions!

All in all, i had a HEAP loads of fun with some of my favorite ppl in the www. The BEST picnic i've had in my entire life, no doubt. And THANK YOU 3!!! =)))

Will blog more about my other bday gatherings soon!!

Until next time~

Wedding of the Year

Phew, finally found time to edit and post pictures of Cindy's wedding on this blog of mine =)

I was happily photoshopping the photos when i realised I TOOK SO MANY even though i only brought my camera to the gate-crashing event in the morning. haha.
Here's some of my faves:

What is a gatecrashing event without "tasty" treats for the Brothers and the Groom right?

From top right (clockwise): Mentos dipped in condensed milk, Wasabi biscuits, Cups of vinegar and Chocolates with coffee powder.

The vinegar was the worst of the lot, for sure. Its smell was REALLY pungent, even from afar. Poor Brothers. haha.

The Groom and Brothers came much earlier than scheduled so Alex had to rush down to welcome the wedding car~

Well, when you come earlier, there's only one thing that will happen - Get "tortured" more!!! HAHA.

Check out the guys in white disposable undies and geeky specs!! Totally hilarious! They were made to spell out "i love Cindy" on each underpants! Kelvin attempted to sing his way through and in case you are wondering what song he sang..it's δΈ‰εͺθ€θ™Ž! The only song he knows with the guitar. lol.

And then...here comes the bride =)

I didnt manage to take any pictures during the wedding dinner in the evening, partly because i was the mandarin emcee for the night so i was busy rehearsing and all. Thank gdness the review for my emcee job was pretty good =) Been so long since i "perform" or emcee of any sorts so i was a nervous wreck that night.

Cindy was nice enough to cater my makeup and hairdo for the wedding dinner =D My very first "professional" doll-up session!! Here's a before (morning, with one of the geeky specs the JieMei prepared for the Brothers) and after (taken at home after the dinner!) look:

I like my permed hair!!!!! Although it does made me look more mature...what do you guys think?

Pictures from my iphone that night..i wonder why the quality is so compromised though...

And lastly, my favorite pic that very morning:

Awww...

Until next time~

Aroy Ahaarn Thai

It was supposed to be a seafood dinner last Fri but we couldn't find a good place at Clarke Quay that serves good seafood so we ended up at the basement of Liang Court, trying out this Thai restaurant that serves ala-carte dinner buffet at a pretty decent price of $19.90++. Who can resist palatable ahaarn thai? i know i can't, that's for sure! ;)

There were so many food choices on the menu so we ordered all the items with asterisk (food for one-time order only) for our very first round and when our orders came after 10mins...

THE WHOLE TABLE WAS FILLED WITH FOOD =X We are such gluttons, i know....it's a buffet what! haha.

Some of the food we ordered:

Thai Chicken Satay

Stir-fried seafood

Green Mango Salad - It wasn't too spicy and a really refreshing appetizer indeed.

Pandan chicken

Stuffed Chicken Wings - Was still thinking where can they find such "muscular-looking" chicken wings and realised they were stuffed with chicken bits -__-" Im so noob sometimes. haha.

Deep Fried Sotong

Green curry with beef - The only dish that disappoint that day. I think it's due to the fact that we don't exactly like the spice they added. Also, beef+curry is just not my favorite combination.

Baby KaiLan - Nothing can go wrong with stir-fried kai lan so this dish, as you can imagine, was yummyyyy.

Sweet and Sour Fried Fish Fillet

RED RUBY FOR DESSERTS!!!!!!!! We made our own red ruby desserts at the dessert counter *overjoyed* haha. It's so hard to find tasty red ruby but they have it!! =)

Enough of food porn for the day! ;) Until next time~
