An episode closes...

I am extremely glad my supplier called and cleared the air with me. I cannot explain how relieved i am that this episode finally closes. I'm young and harsh at times, but no, these are not the excuses that i will come up with to cover my ignorance and flaws. In fact, i will learn from my mistakes and appreciate the good things/people i have around me. i will grow with each and every experiences of life and i aim to be a better person in time to come.
Thank you for accepting my apologies and i hope to see many more collaborations to come.
With that, i rest my case.

Ippudo @ Mandarin Gallery

I just baked a really lousy brownie (i was in the kitchen, on my own. i kinda expected the outcome =X) and im in a bad mood. But it's ok, im waiting for Mum to be home to salvage my pathetic half-baked brownie while i blog about my fun fun meetup with Jun yest night!! =)

i know Jun like wayyyyy back. We were primary school classmates since primary one, our mums know each other, we embarked on our first Japan trip together on our own at the age of 16 (haha, yes, we got the whole tour bus looking aft us like our parents throughout the trip)...you get the drift.

So we decided to try Ippudo @ Mandarin Gallery! I've been eyeing on that restaurant since magazines started writing about it in their columns but the horrendous long queues was really stopping me from trying. Nevertheless, Jun and i decided to just pop by yesterday!

And to our surprise....

THERE IS NO QUEUE!!!! *beams*

We only waited for 30mins before we were served a table!! =)

But i wasnt very pleased with the seating plan though. We had to share another table with another couple and were forced to sit side by side, instead of opp each other =( It was kinda unexpected, given that this restaurant is tucked away in such a high-end shopping mall. I was expecting more privacy and all..but i guess this is what happens when the restaurant is crowded most of the time? oh wells.

Then came our ramen!

My ramen turned out to be pretty salty..but the noodles were just nice, not too hard nor too soggy! Pricing-wise, i guess $15 is like a rather common and affordable price for ramen in Singapore these days!

However, if i were given a choice, i would stick to Tampopo (Liang Court/Taka) or Men Ichi (Jurong Point) because they had better ramen, or at least more suited to my taste buds?

Anyhows, we ended up cam-whoring in front of the hugeeeeeeee mirror in the toilet! hahaha.

i love my denim jacket from Far East Plaza!! I love the whole biker feel, together with the very much raved faded denim color =))

After some shopping ard town, we ended up at Cine for some snow ice and iced yuan yang (yummmmm)!

We did loads of catching up within the few hours and i had loads of fun =) U know how some friends just make you feel extremely comfortable with them, despite not meeting up as often? Jun's that kind of friend =))

Alright, gona go watch some Simpsons now..byeeee!

Baking Lesson 101 with Chef Wong

I'm home, on this (bloody) hot afternoon, after a satisfying baking lesson conducted by Chef Sally Wong at her place! hahaha. I don't deny im a huge failure when it comes to cooking/baking and i blame my mum for it, as she is such a wonderful cook! haha. Therefore, i jumped at the chance of learning baking from Sally when she tweeted about her plans to do so a few days ago =)

What did we bake? PEANUT BUTTER AND WHITE CHOCOLATE BLONDIES (brownie) according to Rachel Allen's recipe!

Had a gd lunch at Sally's place before we started! Now i know why she can cook so well (hello, my dear friend can cook mee hoon kuay at home! Beat that!) coz she took after her mum!! =)

Yummy lunch:

Then it was OFF TO WORK!

Our recipe and ingredients..Sally is seriously damn gung-ho..she just copied down the recipe during the Rachel Allen show so we barely had proper step-by-step procedures to follow! Everything was done based on Sally's experience and memory from the show! haha.
Step one: Prepare 100g of butter ...

Ok, tt's me, with minimal makeup. pardon me. =P

Step 2: Prepare 150g of peanut butter...and cream both items till it becomes soft and creamy.

Step 3: Add 175g of brown sugar, an egg, a teaspoon of vanilla essence and chopped white chocolate to the mixture. Mix them all up.

Step 4: Sieve 125g of plain flour into 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Step 5: Pour everything together...and MIX MIX MIX to form a dough!

Step 6: Place the dough into our aluminium trays and bake in the preheated oven for 30mins!

Here's the chef checking if the brownie is too soft...

And........

TA DAHHHHHHH..

I would say the brownie turned out to be pretty successful! The peanut butter taste wasn't too mild and the addition of the white chocolates made sure the brownie was not too bland! So happyyyyy. And of coz, i had to take pics of my first home-made brownies!

And...shi-fu of the day....SALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYY! *claps*

Hope everyone had fun reading this post as much as i had fun baking =D

Yet another food entry!!

If theBF have not exclaimed over the phone just now with "WAD? BUFFET AGN?!", i wouldnt have notice this is gona be yet another food entry about yet another buffet! lol.

And so, the TP Clique finally met up!!!!! =) Everyone's been sooo busy with work (and me, school) but i'm glad Twitter kept me in contact with each other and finally, a proper gathering. Michelle Tay, come back soon to make TP clique complete!!

We had steamboat buffet at HEY HEY HOTPOT @ Pomo, a steamboat outlet opened by Terence Cao! They had a whole rangle of soup bases for us to choose from, and we decided on the WinterMelon soup, as recommended by Suz.

Look at how cute the wintermelon was in the pot!! The staff insisted that they cut up the winter melon and we each try a bowl of their soup before we put all our raw items in because it's suppose to be "MSG-free and prepared for 8 hrs"

And boy, the soup was REALLY yummy on its own already =)

First round: We got to try ALL food items on the ala-carte menu without having to order them individually. They even included some dimsum items and fried snacks like fried chicken wings and sweet potatoes fritters!

The food were pretty much the same for all other steamboat outlets..but...2 items caught my attention:

BEEF SLICES, found on top of a pack of ice, AND FRIED BANANA FRITTERS!!! From far, i actually thought we were given sashimi. haha.

Second Round: We ordered some fried wantons that were not in the menu, top up on some steamboat items and con't our gossiping. Nom nom noms....

Well, how can we end our gathering without our usual cam-whoring sessions IN THE TOILET? hahahaa.
All these pics, are the best out of many many many blurred/wrongly focused ones! haha.
The Glam...

And the Unglam..

LOL. i seriously look damn cui in the unglam pics -_-"

Oh before i forget, here's what ZX got for me and suz frm Taiwannnn:

Ok, nights all! Need to wake up and get stocks for Yventually tml morning! Wish me luck!!!
